December 2009 Notes
| The November meeting of the Scottish Section was one of the best attended for sometime with fourteen members present. Much was discussed with the usual updates on the progress of projects and solutions offered for particularly pernicious problems. | ||

We were treated to a comprehensive report by Bill Keogh who has carried out a reconnaissance of the Irish International Jampot Rally site. He rated the facilities very highly and considered them just right for Rally next year which should be very successful, however for those who wish to stay in B&B’s or hotels, they will need to book soon as people are booking them up very fast. |

| The Annual Dinner was discussed and there was complete agreement that it should be at the same place as last year. So it will be held at the Bridge of Allan Hotel on the 30th of January 2010. Payment will be required on or before the January meeting. Bill Curry is volunteered to handle the bookings and take the payments of £25 per person. |

| On a lighter note we discussed the committee meeting minutes where they mention finding the Craven Shield and the tug of War Trophy which is to have our section name engraved on it. This led to speculation and conjectures that an intrepid group of explorers (similar perhaps to the Famous Five) explored the deepest darkest recesses of Kettering and found a secret chamber full of treasures including the aforementioned lost trophies. Then we wondered if the Tug of War Trophy would be sent north after its long sojourn in England like the Stone of Destiny to be met by us at the border and piped back to its new resting place. Well perhaps that won’t happen but it might be nice to see it sometime or perhaps we might see a photograph? |
